Bend was written as a semester-long project for my script & story class, which applied to my copywriting minor.
prior to taking this class, i had taken a writing processes class (also towards the copywriting minor) and had decided to explore the format of screenwriting. around this time, i was also fascinated by the God of War franchise and wanted to learn more about narrative design and on-screen storytelling. i really liked my exploration of screenwriting through this class! in fact, i met with my screenwriting professor for an interview prior to even taking script & story. at this time, i was also writing a novel intro and i made it my mission to translate the narrative format to a format for screens. it was a really neat way to navigate the format, it also encouraged me to continue detailing out the story.
it's not often that i'm super set on an original idea to write about, i'm mostly familiar with writing/creating fan projects. i really like God of War right now, and i think that influence is able to be seen in my drafts. i really enjoy a familial duo on a journey.
through script & story, I learned the formatting surrounding screenwriting. but, i also gained experience with screenwriting programs Final Draft and WriterDuet.
